Cameriere Fiorentino (Oil on Canvas) One day in the piazza dei signori, while working on a painting of a particular restaurant, I was approached by a group of waiters from that restaurant who were interested in the painting I was making. In a conversation that ensued, they talked proudly of their restaurant, the city of Florence, and their profession. Through this and subsequent interactions, I gained insight into the profession of a waiter and was impressed with the loyalty and nobility with which these men approach their work. |
